Dear Our Lady of Las Vegas Community,
We are filled with gratitude as we reflect on the incredible success of this year’s Stardust Gala. Thanks to the generosity and support of our dedicated parents, teachers, sponsors, and attendees, we raised an impressive $72,165.56 to benefit our school and continued support services such as the school nurse, school counselor and teacher aides. Additionally, we are blessed to receive a $30,000 donation from Youth Charities of Southern Nevada, which will go directly to financial aid for students in need over the next three years.
We extend our deepest thanks to our Gala Committee—Abbe Viellion, Cayla Miguera, Melody Allen, Molly Burford, John Pohorsky, and Michelle Roberts—as well as all of the volunteers who dedicated their time and effort to making this event a success. Your hard work and commitment to Our Lady of Las Vegas are truly appreciated.
A special thank you to our friends at Shea Homes for their generosity, which will allow us to give our campus a much-needed facelift this summer. When our students return in the fall, they will be welcomed by a beautifully updated school featuring new flooring, fresh paint inside and out, upgraded lighting, remodeled bathrooms, and a completely renovated front office. These improvements will enhance our learning environment and continue to make Our Lady of Las Vegas a place of excellence. The first day of school is slated for August 11th; however, this date is tentative depending on the progress of the construction.
We are also incredibly grateful for the support of the Gaughn Family and South Point Casino for their continued commitment to our school and for making this memorable evening possible.
Over the past five years, our school has seen remarkable growth. With an enrollment of 464 students, we are now the largest Catholic Primary school in the Archdiocese of Las Vegas. Through grants such as ESSER and EANS, we have been able to invest over $3.5 million into our students’ learning experiences, providing new classroom technology, curriculum enhancements, student support services, and a 1:1 iPad program. As these grants come to an end, we remain committed to finding sustainable ways to continue these invaluable resources for our students.
Our Lady of Las Vegas is more than just a school—it is a community built on faith, dedication, and a shared commitment to academic excellence. None of this would be possible without each and every one of you. Thank you for your continued support and generosity. We look forward to another year of growth and success together.
With gratitude,
Mrs. Marisa Bello
Principal, Our Lady of Las Vegas Catholic School
