Happy Spring! The weather has finally warmed up enough for us to start gardening. Garden Club will resume on March 4th and 5th. Pre-K and Kinder will meet March 4th from 2:30 until 3:00. 4th grade through 8th grade will also meet on March 4th from 3:00 to 3:45. First, second and third grades will meet on March 5th from 3:00 through 3:30. Students may be picked up from room 20, the aftercare room at 3:00. If your student is in aftercare please drop me an email to let me know they need to be returned to the aftercare staff. I will have a calendar ready at our first meeting to let you know when the meetings will be for the rest of the year. We can't wait to see you! Mrs. Kowaleski
OLLV wants to meet or exceed its Kids Heart Challenge goal of $30,000. To help meet that goal, we are selling a $3.00 Free Dress Pass that your student may use on a day of their choice (excluding Wednesdays due to Mass). Please know that 100% of your donation will benefit the Heart Association. To contribute, please complete the form sent home with your student or print it from the title link above or from our Kids Heart Challenge page on our website. Please include $3.00 or more if you'd like and have your child turn it in to their homeroom teacher on or before March 1, 2019. Only pass per student. Thank you for your continued support.
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Yolande Commodore. She has touched so many lives through her 30-plus years at Our Lady of Las Vegas School and will be missed greatly. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, February 28th at 11:30 am at Our Lady of Las Vegas Church. May eternal rest be granted unto her and let perpetual light shine upon her.

We only have one week left until our Kids Heart Challenge - Jump Rope Day! We need everyone to give their best effort in the last week so we can reach our goal! Our total as of today is $16,200. We can do this! And a big thank you to our most recent Heart Heroes, Michael, Cash and Hudson who have together raised $555! Presley who has raised $250, Jack who has raised $450 and Mia who has raised $535! Great work Angels! Let's keep going, we are almost to the finish line. School has been cancelled for tomorrow, Friday, February 22nd due to Winter Weather Conditions in Las Vegas. The Pasta Party scheduled for tomorrow night will be rescheduled for a future date, so please hold on to your tickets.

February is Heart Month and we only have three more weeks to raise money for the Heart Association. Here is a Heart Hero shout out to Christopher 1A and Alexa 2B, a brother and sister team that together have raised close to $600! Thank you! As of Sunday night our total raised is $13,400! Way to go Angels!
Dear Parents and Families, Our Book Fair theme for spring 2019 is Dino-Mite Book Fair Stomp, Chomp and Read!! Readers will find many Dino-Mite books at this season’s Book Fair! The Scholastic Book Fair begins at our school Friday, February 8, 2019. The fair will continue on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, Wednesday is the last day. The fair is open to students at lunch and parents after school from 3-4. Someone will be at the front office gate to let you in. Students have many activities going on in their Technology Classes the last two weeks; such us book talk, videos, and contests. Don’t forget to try the online fair for ordering and looking up books. Our online Book Fair can be accessed under the "Links" tab on our website.
We are pleased to inform you that all students in the Diocese of Las Vegas now have access to SafeVoice. The SafeVoice program offers a hotline, mobile app, and website for the purpose of reporting threats to the safety and well-being of our students. SafeVoice was established by the Nevada Department of Education and is operated in partnership with the Nevada Department of Public Safety. Reports are anonymous unless the reporter chooses to share his or her name. Throughout the week, SafeVoice will be introduced to all Students Grades 3 through 8, using age appropriate resources.
